I have been thinking a lot lately about brotherhood. For a few weeks, I have wanted to talk about various events I have seen or heard about. However, I did not have the proper package to wrap it up in. Until I saw Captain America: Civil War.

I saw one comment where a person asked "Name me one instance a police got killed because they did not they did not have military rifles" Well, anonymous internet commenter here is your answer... April 11, 1986 in Miami Florida.

Yesterday, (February 10, 2016) we had four Law Enforcement Officers killed in the United States. However unless you view police related web pages it seems these deaths never happened. The top headlines on local news outlets deal with the Oregon standoff surrender and New Hampshire voters.

About a week ago this little meme from CopBlock rolled across my Facebook feed. The advice the anti-police movement was trying to give said call 911 any time a police officer pulls you over.

As I type this we are only a few hours into 2016. Overall I would say this has been a good year. Hopefully, you also can think back on 2015 with more positives than negatives.

Today is a day we set aside to reflect on what we can be grateful for. For our ancestors, it was a day to celebrate the end of the harvest season. A good mean to celebrate hard work and the acknowledgment of getting the supplies to survive the winter.

This past week on the "Crossover Show" Pod cast Justin Shchorr (AKA Happy Medic) made some interesting observations. The topic of the show was time management. The observation that perked my interest was a talk about bucket lists.

A meme from CopBlock has been making the rounds. It says that Firefighters and EMS workers don't go looking for calls, thus police should stop looking for criminals. I think this meme shows how clueless the CopBlock movement is.

Last week I had the good fortune to work for a special event at our local community college campus. It was a citizens academy but this was not for our local citizens. It was only for authors, mostly writers of mystery novels.
