During the blizzard, this past weekend a semi on the Pennsylvania Turnpike ended off the road. The cab was dangling over a dropoff and the driver was hurt. Citizens jumped into action making a human chain reaching down to save him.

My neighbor happens to be a professional musician and radio host. He does a show on NPR called Jazz ODC. After reading my book, Fire Cop, he started thinking about songs that have an inspiration in Police Noir.

As a LEO, I can't tell you how many times someone has pointed at me and told their kids to "Be good or that mean cop will arrest you". When the situation allows I will go approach and try to explain the reality and ask them not to fear us.

A blowtorch and blade-wielding man who set fire to a Utah home during a New Year's Eve domestic dispute. West Jordan police officers kicked in a door to enter the home, where they found the suspect and used a TASER to make and arrest.

As I type this we are only a few hours into 2016. Overall I would say this has been a good year. Hopefully, you also can think back on 2015 with more positives than negatives.
