Ethics of a Lawyer Hating Police on Facebook

There are a number of lawyers who have Facebook pages they are using to attract clients. Which is natural as it seems Facebook is more important for many businesses today. But I question if some lawyers are crossing an ethical line with what they are posting.

A Lawyers Facebook post

Sorry but I am not going to post links to these pages as I do not want to give free advertising to lawyers with questionable ethics. For the most part the questionable postings are nothing but a bunch of hot air. Claiming cops are lie under oath and they would win more cases if the police were more honest.

But one lawyer has posted some things that truly make you question his ethics and maybe even his intelligence.

This lawyer is actively seeking clients for the purpose of suing the police. Reading over multiple postings this lawyer rants about his high taxes, outrageous budgetes for city services and overpaid public servants.

Think about this one for just one minute…

This lawyer is mad about taxes being high.

This lawyer feels that the budgets for city services are out of line.

So he is going to further burden the city by filing civil lawsuits against the city?

Now I am no expert in how our chief and the mayor for the police budget. But I feel somewhat safe in assuming that if police service costs the city $XX then each year the budget for the police needs to be $XX.

So if the police department is sued that will add monies to what is needed to provide police service. If the lawsuit is frivolous, as I am sure many of his would be, then that added expense to the budget is a pure waste. Oh and don’t forget that the police budget comes out of the city tax funds.

Meaning if I am doing my math right this lawyer is his own enemy. He wants to sue the police, but in doing so he is going to stress the city budget. To make up for the budget costs the city will likely raise taxes.
