A few days ago we posted some photos from the Indianapolis FD showing a SUV kinking a the supply hose at an active fire call. The folks at Keep Calm and Train Your Rookie used that image as a great teachable moment.

A wild fire close to the 15 Freeway in California was set to be attacked from the air. Planes and helicopters had to turn away due to drones in their airspace. The delay in the attack allowed the fire to jump the highway setting multiple vehicles on fire.

A man in Lorain, Ohio was witness to a crash. His first thought was to pull out his cell phone a video record the aftermath. While others called 911 and tried to render aid he tried to get a better angle to see the victims.

It seems you can't go too far on any social media stream with out encountering an anti police story. Heck there are also a few anti-fire and anti-EMS stories creeping up more often. I bring this up because today I saw an anti-police meme that takes some liberties with reality.

A friend sent me a listing from Craig's List. It is for a 1967 Ford C600 Fire Engine converted into a food truck. He sent it to me as a joke due to a discussion we had a few years about buying an engine our old Volunteer Fire Department was selling.

On Friday a police officer in Wauwatosa, WI was shot during a robbery. The suspect fled police and was caught a day later hiding in the basement of a friend's house. That friend told local new reporters the suspect did not do anything wrong "he just shot a cop".
