CopBlock once again shows utter lack of understanding of real laws

A friend pointed out to me a video that CopBlock recently produced. It shows a couple of their members approach an officer parked in a parking lot and question him. Thier main issue is this officer is on private property, without a warrant, thus violating the rights of the property owner.

As much as it pains me to do so, the video is embedded at the end of this post.

Apparently CopBlock has created a new venture call Mobile Accountability for Cops (MAC). It bests summed up as two idiots in crappy old RV driving around harassing cops. According to their web page, the mission of MAC is to inspire and “train” others how to hold police accountable.

How the fuck can someone “train” others about police accountability if they obviously are completely clueless about the law. If you watch the video, it looks like the officer was parked at a Wal-Mart. The CopBlockers tell the officer it is private property then say without a warrant police are only allowed in public places and at police departments.

Here in Wisconsin we call parking lots “places commonly held open to the public”. Sometimes a business will put up signs that parking is for customers only. I have yet ever to see a sign like that at Wal-Mart.

Obviously these guys got all their education on law and Constitutional procedures from scrolling through Facebook comments while living in mom’s basement. Not the most prestigious law school.

So what is the point of this video?

The only thing I see is a pair of guys acting like bullies. Yes, you read that right, the CopBlockers are acting like bullies. They are seeking out police officers and trying to goad them into a fight. They say the mission is to document the police. In reality, they are trying to create situations they can film and later edit to make the police look bad.
