Green Bay “skateboard cop” even makes traffic stops

Officer Joel Zwicky from the city of Green Bay has been hitting various parks and trails on a skateboard. But this is more than just a community policing gimmick… the officer has been able to make traffic stops.

According to the local news…

Officer Zwicky has used it to make a traffic stop.

“I only tried it once on a trail when I caught a motorcycle there where he wasn’t allowed. That was a jaw dropping experience for both of us,” Officer Zwicky said.

While his red and blue lights grab attention – skateboard cop has no plans for a siren – at least for now.

“Wooo wooo wooo, I can just do that, and save the money,” Officer Zwicky said.
